Amber Labadie is one of the first ten (10) licensed Legal Paraprofessionals in the State of Arizona.
Personal Background
Amber Labadie was born in England. Her father spent 20 years in the Air Force, and she was raised in Illinois, North Carolina, and Alaska. She has/had four siblings.
Amber is married to her husband, Neil, and they have four children and eight grandchildren. Amber and Neil enjoy spending time with their family, including traveling together. They moved their family 25 years ago from Illinois to Arizona and never looked back. Brittany is their oldest daughter.
Amber and her husband fostered through the Department of Child and Family Services for over 16 years and fostered over 40 children. They adopted their youngest daughter from foster care. The experiences they had with the foster care system were hard but very rewarding. Their oldest son and his wife also fostered and adopted through foster care. Two of their grandsons were adopted through stepparent adoption. Adoption is very close to Amber’s heart and soul. Amber enjoys assisting Brittany in handling DCS adoptions through foster care and all other adoption matters.
Amber’s legal experience is extensive spanning almost 40 years in all types of law including family law, adoption, corporate, estate planning, etc. She started her career as a legal assistant, went on to obtain her paralegal certificate and then in January 2022, she became one of the first ten people licensed to practice family law as a Legal Paraprofessional or an “LP” in Arizona. There are currently only a few states that allow for a non-attorney to practice law. Arizona only opened up this opportunity in 2021. There are currently over 30 licensed LP’s.
Amber’s favorite type of law will always be adoption; however, now that she is a licensed Legal Paraprofessional in family law, she spends most of her time assisting clients in their family law cases. Her clients range from uncontested divorces plus many other family law cases such as paternity, modifications of parenting time or child support, stopping child support, pre-marital or post-marital agreements, etc. She has experience in and out of the courthouse and really enjoys helping her clients get the best result and hopes that her compassions helps alleviate some of their stress.
Amber joined our firm in 2016. She is our rockstar Legal Paraprofessional or “LP”. As an LP, Amber can represent clients in court, provide legal advice and assists clients at a much more affordable option than an attorney, while still having access to attorneys, when necessary.
Amber is able to save you money by offering a more affordable option whether it’s an uncontested divorce or another type of family law matter. She offers a flat fee and the ability to offer payment plans in some cases. Most contested matters have to be billed hourly with a retainer. She also offers bundling in cases where clients just need help drafting pleadings to save money so they can represent themselves in Court.
